The Association was formed in 2005 to provide a forum for all those interested in the history of yachting - the boats, the people, the events. It is a membership organisation where members share experience and knowledge to further understanding of the sport through:

  • encouraging research into yachting history
  • facilitating the exchange of information between members
  • dissemination of members research findings
  • fostering links between organisations involved in yachting history
  • encouraging the preservation of records in yacht clubs, public museums and private collections

The Association organises regular meetings around the country at which guest speakers and members describe their work at locations where source material can be reviewed and evaluated - see programme summary for upcoming events and reports of past events.

More detailed reports of members work may be published here.

As a membership organisation, membership fees sustain the organisation and occasional support for projects - if you have any interest, do please join. We are an international organisation with members world-wide.
